Before the COVID-19 pandemic, I hardly ever played any games. Occasionally, I and my friends used to play Cards Against Humanity or have a karaoke night whenever we hang out together. But with social distancing and quarantine, I don’t see my friends often and our occasional gaming nights stopped.
With nothing much to do while staying at home, I have been playing a lot of games nowadays. Some of my favorites are Cards Against Humanity, Ludo Club, and games on Snapchat. Many telecommunications platforms like Zoom, Skype, Google Hangout, and other social media platforms have made it convenient to play games from anywhere we are.
One day, my sister scolded me for playing too many games online. And my instant reply to that was, I don’t have anything else to do. Later that day, when the screen time notification popped on my phone, I was shocked. I spend 10 hours on my phone just playing games.
I wouldn’t say that playing games during quarantine is bad. It helps us stay connected with our friends and family and adds refreshments to our day. However, playing too many games in one day can be harmful. Instead, find something else to do while also playing games to balance your time.
Some of the things you can do at home are painting, cooking, cleaning, gardening, and exercising. This will help you normalize your day to day routine and you won’t complain about “Nothing to do” like me.
